In Chhattisgarh police have finally encountered the 8 members of an interstate criminal gang as part of a sensational robbery case in Kurud, Dhamtari district of the State. The stolen scooting machine used in the crime, mobile phone Vivo and the swift car were also found by the police.

Police said it happened in the night of July 11th when Vimal Deshlahre of Chhati village was on his Activa scooter en route to Magarlod. He had parked near Mandraud Mod to rest for a while when a white, fast Swift car came up.

The accused allegedly assaulted him before robbing him of Rs 9,000 in cash, his Vivo smartphone, and his Activa scooter, after which they fled the scene.

On receiving the complaint, the Kurud Police in Chhattisgarh had opened a case and initiated an investigation. Investigators known through the CCTV video, technical surveillance and through informers were able to identify the suspects.

Later, a special police team stormed the Darlimuda village of Nuapada in Odisha, where all eight accused were caught by police. The police retrieved the stolen scooter, the victim’s cell phone and the Swift car that was allegedly used during the burglary during the operation.

Acquitted persons are presently on interrogation and efforts are on to check if the gang is connected to any other crimes in Chhattisgarh or in adjoining states. The investigation is continuing and more will be done, depending on the results of the interrogation, said police.
