First photos of newly married-Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt out; duo opted for a register marriage
Its official! Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt are legally a couple now. The duo signed their marriage papers around 12:45pm in an intimate ceremony held at the actors’ residence. The actor’s public representatives shared the first picture of the couple as newlyweds on social media.
The caption read, “A celebration of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Step inside Aamir Khan’s wedding festivities, filled with warmth, joy, and magic of a truly unforgettable celebration.” The post went viral as fans commented on the first pictures of the duo.
Celebrities including Vir Das and Lagaan director Ashutosh Gawarikar were spotted during the so called Ghar wali shaadi. The actors’ children from the previous marriage alongside the bride’s son from her previous relationship were seen at celebrations.
Congratulatory messages poured in as the duo officiated their marriage.
Writer and actress Somy Ali recently took to her Instagram profile to share her well-wishes for the couple. In her post, she wrote, “To Gauri & Aamir, Love doesn’t follow a calendar. Finding someone to share your life with at any age is just as beautiful as finding them at 20. It’s never too late to choose happiness. A heart that’s open to love is something to celebrate, not criticize. Age is measured in years, but love is measured in moments.”
Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar also showered love and support for Aamir Khan. Addressing the criticism around remarrying at 60 she said, ” What is wrong with marrying at 60? Robert de Niro has been married twice and is now in a relationship (with partner Tiffany Chen), with whom he shares a daughter born in 2023. They had a child when he was more than 80 years old. Happiness in a marriage is not about age. I got married when Gulzar was almost 40.”
Aamir and Gauri have reportedly been together for more than two years. Although they had known each other for almost 20 years, their relationship blossomed after they reconnected. Since then, the couple has preferred to keep their personal life largely private.
Since yesterday, videos and photos from around Aamir Khan’s residence have been actively shared online, and have gone viral, showing how the wedding preparation is going. The videos show people helping around with decorations and setting up chairs around the venue.
Before marrying Spratt, the Lagaan actor has been in two marriages previously. He first tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Reena Dutta, in a private ceremony in 1986. The former couple have two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. While Junaid has pursued a career in acting, Ira has been actively involved in raising awareness about mental health. After 16 years of marriage, Aamir and Reena divorced in 2002. He then married Kiran Roa with whom he has a son Azad Rao Khan.
