National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced that the results of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be declared at the earliest after the completion of the answer key review process.

The NTA announcement comes two weeks after the successful conduct of NEET re-exam. The NTA had implemented unprecedented security and student-friendly protocols for the NEET UG re-examination. Key measures included deploying the Indian Air Force to transport question papers, extending the exam duration to 195 minutes to account for administrative formalities, increasing rough work pages to four, and installing centralized CCTV and biometric monitoring. Nearly 20 lakh candidates was appeared for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21 .

The announcement comes after the objection window for challenging the provisional answer key closed on June 28, paving the way for the release of the final answer key and the declaration of results.

The provisional answer key and question papers were published on the official website on June 25, while candidates were allowed to submit objections until June 28.

According to the agency, work is currently underway to finalise the answer key after reviewing the objections received. In its public notice, the NTA said it introduced the answer key challenge process simultaneously with the release of the provisional answer keys, even as the scanning of OMR answer sheets was still in progress. The agency said the move was aimed at enhancing transparency and giving candidates an early opportunity to review all four sets of the provisional answer key and raise objections wherever necessary.

The NTA added that allowing experts to examine challenges alongside the OMR scanning process would help speed up the publication of the final answer key and declaration of results.

Once all objections are examined by subject experts and the final answer key is prepared, the NTA will announce the NEET UG 2026 re-examination results.

The agency has not announced a specific result date but said the results will be declared at the earliest.
