Ahead of T20I series against Ireland, team India young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi impressed the fans and teammates with explosive net session. The 15-year-old, who earned his maiden India call-up after a record-breaking IPL 2026 season, grabbed attention with a stylish no-look shot. The young batter looked in complete control as he took on the Indian bowlers during the net session.
A practice video shared by the BCCI showed Sooryavanshi playing a variety of attacking strokes with confidence, showing little hesitation against the Indian bowling attack.
The left-handed opener heads into the Ireland tour after finishing as the highest run-scorer in IPL 2026. Representing Rajasthan Royals, he amassed 776 runs to earn a place in India’s T20I squad for the tours of Ireland and England.
While the team management has not indicated when the youngster could make his international debut, his performances in training have further raised expectations.
Among the standout moments from the session was a no-look shot executed by Sooryavanshi, adding another eye-catching stroke to his growing batting repertoire.
The teenager appeared unfazed by the occasion as he confidently faced his India teammates in the nets, continuing the fearless approach that has made him one of the country’s brightest young cricketing prospects.
Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar had earlier hailed Sooryavanshi’s extraordinary talent, calling him “truly God’s gift to Indian cricket.”
During IPL 2026, the youngster made headlines by taking on some of the world’s leading bowlers, including Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Jasprit Bumrah, on his way to finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.
Despite the excitement surrounding Sooryavanshi, Ireland wicketkeeper-batter Ben Calitz said his side is not preparing any differently for the teenage opener.
According to Calitz, Ireland studies every Indian batter through video analysis but treats all players equally, whether it is Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer or Sooryavanshi. He added that while teams prepare specific plans, flexibility during matches remains equally important.
