Two days after the TV actor Sanchita Ugale’s death, her father Machhindra Ugale, talked about his daughter’s mental health, saying she often appeared fine on the surface but was going through sudden emotional shifts in the days leading up to her death.
Recalling her behaviour, her father said she frequently experienced abrupt mood changes that concerned the family. “Even when she was in a good mood, she would suddenly slip into depression,” he said, adding that these changes were noticeable in her day-to-day behaviour. He also said the family had become aware of her emotional instability and tried to remain closely involved in her routine.
Sanchita’s father said they made efforts to ensure she was not left alone after noticing her condition. “We used to stay with her and go along with her in her daily routine,” he said. He expressed regret over brief moments when she was not under their direct supervision, saying they later realised the seriousness of her condition.
Sanchita’s father also claimed that she was under pressure and emotionally disturbed in the period before her death, though he did not go into specific details. According to him, she appeared to be struggling internally despite outwardly normal behaviour at times.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances, and investigations are continuing.
Sanchita Ugale had been building her career in television and digital projects, and was known among viewers for her supporting roles in popular daily soaps.
