Benjamin Netanyahu to seek re-elections in 2026 said his party on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump doubts expresses skepticism about his prime minister ship again.
Netanyahu’s party, Likud in a brief statement he would run in the election and, God willing, he would win. There has been no formal announcement yet. However, the country is scheduled to undergo prime ministerial polls by October.
The news stems from a statement by US president on Netanyahu. “I don’t know, he’s had an amazing career. Does he want to continue?” the journalist quoted Trump as saying.
This will be the first time the nation is undergoing elections ever since it has launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023.
Netanyahu rules majority of the political grounds of Israel after a tumultuous term since returning to power in December 2022. He faced mass anti-government protests before the genocidal wars against Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. He and several members of his government are wanted for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and crimes of genocide.
Polls have repeatedly indicated Netanyahu would fail to hold the reigns if he ran for elections once again. Some polls also showed Netanyahu might need Arab support to win the polls. He pressed his Israeli counterpart to stop attacking Iran as he is nearing negotiations with them.
