Madhya Pradesh is expected to have a delay in its monsoon, as it has been predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). This has been suggested by the unusually strong pre-monsoon this season, which will be causing a weak monsoon when it is expected to arrive. The predictions say that approximately 47 districts in the state are about to receive below-average rainfall in this monsoon season.

It should be noted that several regions have already received strong pre-monsoon rainfall. This has eventually helped them to exceed the seasonal average rain. The data received from the weather authorities show that 14 districts have received 100% to 672% more pre-monsoon rainfall than its average.

Such frequent rainfalls have also contributed to reducing the temperatures in these districts, which was very much needed. Bhopal, the capital city, has also received 3 times more pre-monsoon rainfall this season. Along with that, the weather department has also issued alerts for rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms, which are likely to occur in the next 24 hours.

Districts such as Morena, Bhind, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur have received these alerts, along with alerts for gusty winds. The meteorologists have also said that the residents would not have to worry about the heatwave conditions, as they won’t be arriving in the state during the delayed monsoon. This has provided some relief to them, even when the monsoon is expected to arrive late.
