A special police team set up a cover-up of an alleged prostitution racket in the popular water park under a cover of an spa centre in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. The raid resulted in seven being detained, three of which were women from Thailand, three men and the manager of the facility.

The operation has taken place at Tulsi Water Park on the road from Tulsi to Panched-Namli in protest against its alleged misuse, citing numerous complaints about unethical activities at the park. However, officials say the investigation was kept very close to the vest to avoid leaks of information. A specially created team under the guidance of senior policemen has been put together and officers have been deployed as customers to ascertain the claims first.

Police confirmed the suspected sex racket and proceeded to raid the premises. The investigators indicated that several rooms within a secluded area of the water park are in use as a spa centre where various illegal activities were being carried out. According to officers, they discovered three foreigners of Thai descent and three men in separate rooms during the search with “suspicious circumstances” relating to them.

Police also retrieved used condoms and other other documents there that have been placed under subpoena. The manager of the water park, who was identified as Dilip Thakur, was also picked up for questioning into the running of the water park.

The secrecy of the raid was remarkable and even local police officers who were in the vicinity apparently did not know the raid was coming until it happened,” officials said. A search of the area for evidence is underway and government officials are reviewing possible suspicions that any of the area’s authorities were aware of the alleged activities.

Police are continuing to review documents and records with regards to the water park and spa centre and the detained persons are being questioned. An investigation is continuing, which will determine whether further legal action will be taken.
