Five men in Assam were arrested for the gangrape of a 15-year-old. This happened in a moving vehicle in the Biswanath City of Assam, before the girl was rescued last week. A shocking revelation in this case is that this happened various times over the last few months. But now, the officials have informed that the five accused have been attested.
Dipti Mali, the Additional Superintendent of Police, gave more information on this case. This matter came to be known on 26 May, when a group of individuals spotted the car. They were able to rescue the girl and put her under the surveillance of Biswanath Chariali police station.
“Locals reported that the girl and the occupants of the car were found in a compromising state. The girl later revealed that she was subjected to forceful sexual intercourse by multiple men inside that moving vehicle,” Mali said.
The survivor in this case was provided immediate shelter by the police. Following this, the first arrest of the prime accused was made on the same day, as the girl revealed she was sexually assaulted. The other four accused were also arrested by the police officials from 28 to 30 May.
An official further said, “Following the first arrest, our manhunt continued. Though she was in deep distress and unable to name everyone, she was able to identify their houses because she had been taken there in the past. Based on this information, we arrested four more between May 28 and 30.”
