FWICE announced a second press conference today, Wednesday, June 3. A source in the know stated, “The head honchos of FWICE will likely announce that they are going to lift the non-cooperation directive against Ranveer. The revocation of their earlier order has been done in consultation with senior members of the film industry. In short, the workers are now free to work with Ranveer Singh in his upcoming projects.”
Meanwhile, producer Nikhil Dwivedi extended support to Ranveer Singh questioning mediation, legal routes to resolve disputes, and one’s livelihood after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor last week. The support followed a legal notice by the Dhurandar star to the film body on Tuesday.
What made him exit Don 3?
The timing is the key. Don 3 was announced in 2023, with Ranveer also sharing the promo of the film that he had shot. However, as per reports he hadn’t signed on the dotted line for over a year later. While there were no official agreements on the film, Ranveer got involved in the pre-production work last year during which according to sources, he was trained for action and did a costume trial in November 2025 days before the theatrical release.
While it is not officially communicated by Ranveer or his team, mediation proceedings with members of the Producers Guild of India spilled out few reasons. One being Ranveer didnt approve of the final draft of the script which was sent to him possibly months before shooting was scheduled to begin. Secondly, he didnt feel aligned with Farhan Akhtar who like Ranveer was busy on his work front and failed to co-ordinate with the Dhurandar star. Thirdly, as per reports it’s believed that even the budget of Don 3 was halved since it was first proposed to Ranveer three years prior.
Likewise, Indian actress Kangana Ranaut also extended support to Ranveer Singh.
Last week, the film body sent a legal notice to Ranveer Singh following his abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
