The Madhya Pradesh government has allowed the Transfer Policy 2026 to come into effect, paving the way for the transfer of government officers and employees from June 1 to 15. This was decided at a cabinet meeting called on Wednesday by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

The approval has been a great relief to thousands of employees and officials who had been waiting for the transfer process to be resumed. The new policy sets clear limits on the number of employees who can be transferred to other departments, which will help to balance the number of staff in each department and ensure transparency, said cabinet minister Chaitanya Kashyap.

According to the drafted guidelines, departments having a workforce of up to 200 employees can shift up to 20% of their employees. Up to 15 percent of the workforce can be transferred in one department with 1,000 employees, 10 percent in one department with 2,000 employees and up to 5 percent in one department with over 2,000 employees.

The new policy has placed significant emphasis on transparency and online procedures to minimise irregularities and make the process easier for employees, the government said.

In his address to the cabinet, the Prime Minister also congratulated the ministers for receiving accolades from Norway and Sweden. The cabinet also discussed proposals of investments received on the sidelines of Indo-France Conclave at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in which several companies reportedly expressed interest in investments in Madhya Pradesh.

The Cabinet also discussed the development schemes in the areas roped in by the Naxals after a meeting attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah here in Jagdalpur.

In addition, the government has made efforts to have the idol of Goddess Vagdevi installed at the Bhojshala complex in Dhar and work is under way to establish a “Saraswati Lok” there, it said. The Cabinet is said to have approved the continuation of ongoing projects with an outlay of almost ₹30,000 crore under the heads of infrastructure and development.
