Two young men from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for allegedly impersonating doctors and performing medical treatments without proper training or authorization after concerned members of the community in Takhatpur reported them to police.

Members of the community were suspicious of the two doctors who were making claims of providing treatment to those in pain and suffering from other medical conditions by utilising traditional herbal medicines and imported devices. Community members became suspicious of the legitimacy of the treatment being provided, as neither of the accused appeared to possess any formal medical training or any recognised medical credentials.

When community members questioned the two accused, they stated that they were practicing Ayurvedic medicine and that one of their family members was a qualified medical doctor. However, they were unable to provide any documentation to support their claims.

Community members immediately notified police, who subsequently conducted a search of the premises where the treatment was occurring. During the search, police allegedly seized a large quantity of allopathic medications, as well as numerous unidentified herbal powders and substances. According to police, one other associate of the two accused is believed to have fled the scene prior to police arriving.

The two individuals in question have reportedly identified themselves as Mohammad Hakim Akbar and Mohammad Zaid. Police have begun to investigate if these two individuals had committed any wrongdoing.
