Mohan Yadav has shown that it is imperative to protect and revitalise the ancient temples and historical monuments of Madhya Pradesh and ensure that the State’s rich cultural and civilisational heritage is not lost to future generations.
CM Mohan said to them that the ancient temples and archaeological sites of Madhya Pradesh are alive symbols of India’s glorious history, art, knowledge and spiritual traditions. He emphasized that it is critical to maintain these historic buildings to give the younger generations a sense of their culture and heritage, and to keep the state’s history alive.
The state government says work is underway to restore the temple according to scientific archaeological practices to recreate the original shape of the remains that were damaged and scattered. The conservation and strengthening of several heritage sites in the State are currently underway.
The temple complexes of Devbadla (Sehore) and Ashapuri (Raisen) are some of the major restorations of success. Over the years these ancient temples have almost vanished, but their ruins, broken artefacts and fragments unearthed in excavations have been carefully pieced together using scientific restoration techniques.
Eleven cent old remains of the temple from the period of the Parmar rulers have been rebuilt in Devbadla with special attention to architectural authenticity, officials said. Scientific conservation is being carried out in Omkareshwar’s Siddheshwar temple complex and at other heritage sites. Similarly, efforts of preservation are also being undertaken in Mahakaleshwar Temple complex, Ujjain, where the elements of the ancient heritage are being protected and maintained.
Further, the Dhavla area in Raisen district has been structurally strengthened and special cleaning drives have been conducted to safeguard the temples from further deterioration.
The Madhya Pradesh government hopes that these restoration efforts will not only help to maintain the historical legacy but also improve the tourism industry, cultural awareness, and local pride in the state.
