Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai will be visiting West Bengal today. He will attend the West Bengal CM oath ceremony there. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma will also be present. Several BJP organization officials will also attend the event. According to reports, the Chief Minister’s visit will be a day-long affair, and he will return to Raipur by late evening.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami arrives in Kolkata to attend the swearing-in ceremony of West Bengal BJP Legislative Party Leader Suvendu Adhikari as the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal since Independence.
The swearing-in ceremony at the Brigade Parade Ground — a venue steeped in the state’s political symbolism and long associated with massive Left and opposition mobilisations — is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, chief ministers of NDA-ruled states, senior BJP leaders and thousands of party workers from across the state.
Financial Disclosure of Suvendu Adhikari
The recently disclosed financial affidavits of Suvendu Adhikari paint a rather modest picture of his personal assets despite being one of Bengal’s prominent political leaders. In his declaration ahead of West Bengal CM oath ceremony, the upcoming leader is seen to possess only ₹12,000 in cash and has led a lifestyle that seems to lack extravagant possessions.
Personal Movable Properties
At a time when politics and valuable property go hand-in-hand, the following facts regarding his movable properties may come as a surprise:
Vehicles: The number of cars and other private vehicles owned by him is noted as “nil.”
- Jewelry: The jewelry column remains empty, with no gold or precious stones listed under his name.
- Cash Flow: Beyond the ₹12,000 in hand, his liquid wealth is largely tied up in bank deposits.
Banking and Real Estate
Adhikari manages his finances across 14 different bank accounts, including major institutions like SBI, PNB, and Axis Bank, as well as several cooperative banks situated in his home turf of Contai and Nandigram. These cumulative deposits total approximately ₹7.34 lakh.
The bulk of his wealth is concentrated in immovable assets, valued at ₹61.30 lakh. These properties are predominantly located in Purba Medinipur, the ancestral and political stronghold of the Adhikari family. His holdings include agricultural land in Nandigram—the site of his historic electoral battles—valued at ₹9.05 lakh.
