Uttar Pradesh: Man accused of killing four children and their mother in Ambedkar Nagar was killed in an encounter on Monday, police officials said. It is also reported that two policemen were injured during the killing.
The accused identified as Aamier, was the prime suspect in the quintuple murder that took place on the intervening night of May 2 and 3. Preliminary probe suspected the woman of killing her children. However, final probe revealed that he wanted to grab the women’s property besides marrying her. When things did not go his way, he decided to eliminate the entire family.
“Aamir was cornered by police following a tip-off when he was trying to flee the district. When asked to surrender, he opened fire. In retaliatory firing, the accused sustained fatal injuries. Two policemen were also injured in the encounter,” the SP told reporters.
The gruesome murder sent shock waves across the district. Reports suspect the killing was executed due to obsessive affection and greed for property.
