On Sunday, the father of the four-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed in Nasrapur in the Pune district of Maharashtra made an appeal to political leaders, and sought justice to her daughter. The father, who claimed he had come to Dehu to immerse the remains of his daughter, asked that no condolence visits should be paid to his house until justice has taken place, and the accused has been given capital punishment. According to a news agency, he said that, during this time, numerous politicians have been visiting our home to express their condolences etc.

Before my daughter is given justice and the accused is sentenced to death, I want to make one humble request on behalf my family and me before he comes to our home to meet us. The case occurred in Bhor tehsil of the Pune district on Friday (May 1) in which a 65-year old man enticed the four year old minor girl with the promise of food. The victim father went further to say that it would only be after justice is served that the family would be open to meeting people including politicians. He further asked that no visits be made to express condolences, in the video he shot himself.

The accused, who lived in the surrounding area in a village in Pune district, has been arrested. The accused is a labourer who already had two similar cases against him, including a POCSO case, said the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Singh Gill.
