Aligarh. Police raided Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). During the search, the team found cartridges, magazines, and counterfeit currency in the hostel room. All these items were found in the room of student Shahbaz. Two different 10th-grade mark sheets in Shahbaz’s name were also recovered. Two different nomination papers were also recovered. However, the accused Shahbaz had fled before the police arrived. The police took this action in the firing incident in the FM Tower area. The police have registered an FIR against the accused at the Civil Lines police station. This entire incident is said to have taken place in the SZ Hall of AMU.

Following the police investigation, the student’s room has been sealed. Three other accused, including another student, have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident. According to the police, around 10:30 pm on Monday night, an elderly man, Shahid Ali, had a fight with an AMU student and his friends over parking near the FM Tower. The elderly man was subsequently assaulted. Upon seeing the Nagla Patwari police, who arrived on the scene, the attackers fled.

According to the police, the incident involved Ashraf, a resident of Suleman Hall at AMU, Faisal, a resident of FM Tower, and Mohammad Saqib, along with half a dozen other students. A group of AMU students again attacked outside Ashiana Green Society in the Qarsi police station area at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday and fired at Shahid Ali’s house. Police have registered a case in this matter. Through interrogation and CCTV footage, another accused was identified as Shahbaz alias Chhotu, a second-year MCA student at AMU. A resident of Shahanshahabad, he lives illegally in AMU’s SZ Hall. Acting on this information, the police, along with the AMU Proctor’s team, raided SZ Hall in the afternoon and took action.
