Former Punjab Congress politician Navjot Kaur Sidhu has established a new political party called the Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Party nearly two months after being kicked out of the Indian National Congress party. This announcement was made on a post on social media network X late on Monday night and referred to as a “much awaited” continuation of her political journey.

The wife of former cricketer-turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sidhu was embroiled in controversy due to the statement that the Chief Minister’s position in Punjab could be “secured” for ₹500 crores. Following this statement, political controversy ensued, and she eventually faced expulsion from the Congress party for this and several other reasons including the public criticism of several prominent Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and the President of the Punjab Congress, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

In addition to releasing a photo with the logo of the newly founded party, Sidhu presented her vision for the new party and transforming Punjab into a “Golden State” based on principles of unity, justice, freedom, and selfless service. She also expressed her desire to develop a political platform that focuses on development, transparency, and spirituality without outside influence.
