The Indian flagged LPG tanker ” Green Sanvi ” has successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz. The vessel is carrying approximately 46,000 metric tons of LPG and is expected to reach Mumbai by April 6. This makes it the seventh Indian vessel to transit the Strait of Hormuz in March. However, several Indian oil and gas vessels are still stranded in Hormuz, awaiting Iranian clearance. Its arrival is expected to bring significant relief to millions of families facing cooking gas shortages in the country.
The Directorate General of Shipping said LPG carrier Green Sanvi is currently passing north of the Strait and is expected to complete transit early on Saturday morning. Shipping ministry officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the vessel is transporting 46,655 metric tonnes of LPG.
The development comes days after two LPG carriers successfully crossed the strategic waterway and reached Indian ports. Last week, Jag Vasant delivered 47,612 metric tonnes of LPG at Kandla, while Pine Gas delivered 45,000 metric tonnes at New Mangalore.
Shipping Ministry officials have confirmed that the ship is carrying 46,655 metric tons of LPG. It is expected to complete its transit safely by midnight on April 3rd. Its arrival is expected to provide significant relief to millions of families facing cooking gas shortages in the country. Previously, two other LPG ships – Jag Vasant (Kandla Port) and Pine Gas (New Mangalore) – arrived in India last week. Together, these ships delivered approximately 92,000 metric tons of fuel.
