Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the City Gas Infrastructure Project on Friday, a major initiative aimed at providing piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) to households, vehicles, and industries in Raipur, Balodabazar, and Gariaband districts.

During the launch event in Raipur, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Chhattisgarh is steadily progressing towards development. Today, another development initiative has been launched, with the City Gas Infrastructure Project providing piped gas to residents, vehicles, and industrialists in Raipur, Balodabazar, and Gariaband districts.”

Key highlights of the project include: PNG supply to homes and commercial establishments, CNG availability for vehicles, reducing dependency on conventional fuels, cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly energy solutions, and direct benefits for domestic consumers, drivers, and industrial users

CM Vishnu Deo Sai also noted the broader economic context, referring to the Chhattisgarh Economic Survey:

  • Agriculture and allied sectors: Projected growth of 12.53%
  • Industry: Expected growth of 10.26%
  • Services: Anticipated growth of 13.15% at current prices

“These figures reflect broad-based and balanced development across key sectors contributing to the state’s economic progress,” the Chief Minister noted.

The City Gas Infrastructure Project complements this development strategy by supporting industrial growth, improving household energy access, and promoting sustainable urban mobility.
