PM Modi and Global Dignitaries to Set the Tone
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to deliver a landmark keynote address today, emphasizing India’s commitment to “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya” (Welfare for All, Happiness for All). Joining him on stage for the opening ceremony are French President Emmanuel Macron and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The presence of these leaders underscores the summit’s focus on international cooperation and the ethical governance of artificial intelligence.

The day’s sessions feature a “who’s who” of the technology world:
- Mukesh Ambani: The Reliance Chairman is expected to showcase the “Jio AI Stack” and discuss how integrated AI ecosystems can drive digital transformation across India.
- Sam Altman: The OpenAI CEO will likely address the future of Generative AI and the necessity of global safety standards.
- Rishad Premji: Wipro’s Executive Chairman will focus on the role of AI in enterprise resilience and the evolving workforce.
The “Will He, Won’t He” Ends for Bill Gates
In a significant update, the Gates Foundation confirmed that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates will indeed be in attendance today. While earlier reports suggested he might skip the Delhi leg of his India visit, the Foundation clarified his participation. However, late-breaking reports indicate that while he is present at the summit, he may not deliver a formal keynote address, with the Foundation’s India President, Ankur Vora, taking a lead speaking role instead.
The summit, spanning over 70,000 square meters, continues to showcase 13 country pavilions and hundreds of AI-driven innovations, solidifying its status as a historic moment for the Global South.
