A shocking and shameful incident has come to light from the ongoing AI Impact Summit in Delhi. Dhananjay Yadav, CEO and co-founder of a company named NeoSapien, has alleged that AI wearable devices were stolen from his stall. According to Dhananjay Yadav, this incident occurred when the exhibition area (Expo area) was being cleared for security reasons before the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He claims that the authorities had asked all the participants and stall operators to leave temporarily. The CEO questioned that when the entry of common people in the entire area was closed, and only security personnel were allowed, then how did his company’s expensive AI devices got stolen? He called it a case that raises serious questions about the security system.
Dhananjay Yadav’s company, NeoSapien, makes AI wearable devices that track conversations and analyze emotions. Yadav expressed his sadness over the incident in a post on the social media platform X, writing, “The first day of the AI Impact Summit was painful for us.” He explained that he was very excited about the summit, as it was being held in India for the first time. He said, “I wanted to personally attend and support the ecosystem and the government’s efforts. But what happened next was shocking.”
The AI Impact Summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, is being considered one of the most high-profile events taking place in the country this year. The five-day summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16. This international event is being attended by several leading tech and business leaders from around the world, where the future of AI and its global impact are being discussed. Key speakers include Sundar Pichai (CEO, Google), Bill Gates (Co-founder, Microsoft), and Sam Altman (CEO, OpenAI).
The AI Impact Summit proved disappointing for Dhananjay Yadav, as devices were reportedly stolen from his product stall on the very first day. According to the NeoSapien CEO, strict security checks began at the expo area around 12 noon, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival at 2 pm.
Yadav said, “PM Modi was scheduled to arrive at 2 pm, and before that, security personnel had been checking the premises since 12 pm.” According to the CEO, he told the security personnel that his company had developed the first patented AI wearable in India and asked for a chance to demonstrate it. An officer reportedly allowed him to stay there, but later some other security personnel arrived and immediately asked him to leave. Yadav says there was a lack of coordination among the security personnel. “It seems there was a lack of coordination among them,” he said.
