Bhopal: The administration in Madhya Pradesh’s capital, Bhopal and seven other major cities of the state has geared up to take action against the toxic air in the state. Concerned about rising air pollution, the administration has geared up as Chief Secretary Anurag Jain chaired a crucial meeting of the state-level steering committee of the National Clean Air Program. Senior officials from all relevant departments were present.

Clear instructions were given at the meeting to bring the Air Quality Index (AQI) below 100 in seven cities: Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Dewas, Ujjain, and Singrauli. Strict action was ordered against construction dust and other sources of pollution. A plan was also developed for a large-scale campaign to raise public awareness.

Most importantly, all departments have been strictly instructed to submit a report on the current situation and a future action plan by November 30th. The administration has clearly stated that pollution will not be allowed to increase any further. Breathable air is every citizen’s right, and this will be ensured at all costs.
