Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the work of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force in a high-level meeting held at his official residence. On this occasion, CM Yogi directed the Anti-Narcotics Task Force to be made more effective and efficient. He said that arrangements for permanent deployment and special training of the necessary manpower, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, computer operators, and constables, should be completed soon in all six police stations and eight units.

Chairing the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the Anti-Narcotics Task Force team should be equipped with modern equipment, digital tracking systems, and advanced technological resources to ensure swift and accurate action. Stressing on the need to expedite the court allocation process for the proposed police stations without delay, he said this step would ensure speedy trial of cases and strict action against criminals. He also emphasized the need to construct permanent buildings for all Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) police stations.

Chief Minister Yogi said that with strengthened resources and infrastructure, the pace and results of action will increase further. The state will be more empowered to root out illegal drug networks. The meeting was informed that significant progress has been made in action since the formation of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force. Between 2023 and 2025, 310 cases were registered, 35,313 kg of illegal drugs were seized, and 883 smugglers were arrested. The estimated value of the seized material is over ₹343 crore.

During the review, it was also reported that, in addition to routine operations, large networks and mafias have been targeted. In the past three years, 261,391 kg of narcotics have been legally destroyed, with an estimated value of approximately ₹775 crore. Chief Minister Yogi stated that the disposal process continues regularly and transparently with the arrest of over 883 drug traffickers. CM Yogi emphasized that the fight against illegal drugs is not merely a matter of law and order, but a collective responsibility of society.

Families, educational institutions, civic organizations, and the administration must work together to ensure that drugs do not reach youth. He emphasized that criminals must receive a clear message that illegal drug trafficking will not be tolerated in Uttar Pradesh.
