Bhopal: Another big good news has come from Kuno National Park of Madhya Pradesh in the field of cheetah conservation. The first female cheetah born in India, ‘Mukhi’, has given birth to five healthy cubs. With this, at the age of 33 months, Mukhi has now become the first cheetah born in India, which has successfully breed. According to the officials of Kuno National Park, the female cheetah Mukhi and her five newborn cubs are completely healthy. These cubs are the offspring of cheetah ‘Siya’ brought from Namibi, and male cheetah ‘Agni’ brought from South Africa.

Mukhi is part of the first Indian generation of cheetahs introduced under Project Cheetah, which began in September 2022. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his happiness on social media about this achievement, writing, “Great news from Kuno! Our Indian-born cheetah, Mukhi, has given birth to five cubs. This is Project Cheetah’s biggest success to date. The mother and all the cubs are healthy. This is a proud moment for Madhya Pradesh and the country.”
