Rohit Sharma, who was formerly captain of India, has dropped from ICC No.1 ODI batting ranking only 22 days after he managed to go to the top. Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand has reached the No.1 place. Mitchell made some records by becoming the first New Zealand player since 1979 when Glenn Turner did so to top the ODI batting list. What led to his rise was his 119 runs off 118 balls in first game against West Indies at Christchurch where he got Player of the Match.
Mitchell was able to overtake the Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan and barely got ahead of Rohit by having just one rating point more. Rohit, who came back to play cricket Australia recently, reached No.1 as oldest player last month but he held that position for not a long time. New Zealand had players in the ODI like Nathan Astle, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor but none were able to get to No.1 spot after Turner, so the success of Mitchell now is more remarkable.
Pakistan also got some positive news in newest update. Babar Azam jumped to a sixth because of his 102 not out against Sri Lanka in the Rawalpindi. His teammates Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman rose five spots each which put them at 22nd and 26th spots following their regular half-centuries.They kind of showed good form recently.
