On January 27, a shooting was reported at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, which led the authorities to issue a shelter-in-place order that was still in effect late in the night. It was reported that a shot was fired at Chatsworth Suites, which is a campus dormitory at 42 W Warren Avenue, at approximately 9:58 pm.
Wayne state University verified the case in a statement where the shooting took place as part of a dispute between two people who were acquainted with one another. Tonight, at Chatsworth Suites, a gun was fired during a quarrel between individuals who were familiar to each other. Everybody has walked out of the building. The police are in the active search of the involved and endeavoring to establish whether anyone was injured. The statement added Please shelter in place until further notice.
No confirmation has so far been made on the injuries, and the law enforcement officials have not issued more information on the suspects or the events that caused the dispute. Police kept the area under search as they urged students and staff to stay indoors in order to stay safe.
Students, parents, and university members were concerned and anxious about the incident. Some individuals went to social media to show their fears awaiting updates. According to one user of Facebook, it sounds like both individuals have exited, but I am franticly awaiting some news. My girl is there waiting to bring home.
The officials of the university have promised that they will update on the same as more information is made available. The reason of such a conflict is not identified yet, and the investigation continues.
