Washington: As the United States of America eased restrictions on international arrivals, airlines are bracing for an “onslaught” of passengers as families and binational couples prepare to reunite following months of separation.
The country today lifted travel restrictions permitting passengers from 33 countries who have proof of vaccination and a recent negative COVID-19 test reports. The relaxation eased travel to America from nearly 33 countries which included Mexico, Canada and most of Europe. Land travel from Mexico and Canada will require proof of vaccination however no test is mandated.
As per the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the Senate will accept travellers who have been fully vaccinated with any of the vaccines approved for emergency use by the World Health Organisation.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, most companies and institutions had allowed employees to work from home with in helping colleagues stay connected in a ‘new normal’ scenario.
This change in U.S. travel rules comes as the Biden administration decides to focus on vaccination, recently finalizing rules that will require companies with more than 100 employees to mandate coronavirus vaccination for their workers or do regular testing by Jan. 4, 2022.
