Kyiv: A month into the war, intelligence reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claim Moscow intends to end the war by May 9th. Citing available information, the Ukrainian Army’s statement that “there is a constant propaganda work being carried out among the personnel of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces, which imposes the idea that the war must be ended by May 9, 2022.”
Reports make rounds on Russia opening a humanitarian corridor for foreign ships to leave Ukraine ports. The supposed corridor would be open from 8 am to 7 pm on March 25th. Meanwhile, Ukraine released 10 Russian prisoners in exchange for its servicemen captivated during the war that began a month ago.
According to the Ukrainian defence department, around 1,804 air raids have been conducted including the launch of 467 missiles since February 24th.
On Thursday, the Ukrainian Parliament appealed to the UN, EU and NATO along with other international organisations to take a range of actions to stop Russia’s military aggression. He also urged the EU leaders to move quickly on Ukraine’s application to join the bloc. Sharing a video from Kyiv- Zelensky said, “Here I ask you, do not delay. For this is a chance’.
The besieged city of Mariupol reported that Russian forces had taken full charge of the city hall and hoisted the flag. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed the news posting a video on his telegram. Around 6,000 residents from the port city have been forcibly deported to Russia as per Ukraine‘s foreign Ministry.
