Kyiv: Entering the 24th day of the war, the Ukraine Defence Ministry on Saturday declared open 10 humanitarian corridors including one from Mariupol. Defence officials claimed to have taken down 14,400 Russian troops since the war.
Meanwhile, a 38-hour long curfew is imposed in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia that began at 1400 GMT on Saturday. The city is being heavily attacked with mortars, tanks, helicopters and rocket systems. Nine died and 17 were killed as the forces launched an attack on the suburb of the city. According to ground reports, nearly 112 children have been killed so far. The United Nations calculates around 6.5 million displacements since the war began.

Reports state that Russia used its newest Kinzhal hypersonic missiles for the first time on Friday to destroy an underground storage site. The depot is reported to have stocked missiles and aircraft ammunition in village Deliatyn in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in the west. The missile flies 10 times the speed of sound and can overcome air-defence systems. Kinzhal means Dagger- was one of the many new weapons Putin unveiled in his stat of art address in 2018.
