World: In an official announcement on Thursday, UAE barred its citizens from travelling to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka. This comes after the UAE last month extended the travel ban on passengers from 14 countries until July 21 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Foreign Ministry and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority dictated all passengers to adhere to COVID Precautionary Norms with the start of the travel season.
In a notice issued to Airmen (NOTAM), UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority, said flights from 14 countries, includes Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and South Africa, will remain suspended until 23:59 hours of July 21, 2021.
However, cargo flights, business as well as charter flights have been exempted from the restriction.
The UAE authorities have instructed its citizens to follow strict isolation should they get infected during their travel and abide by the instructions and health protocols applied by their host country. Meanwhile, all infected Emiratis will be allowed to return to the UAE after necessary approval from the relevant authorities of their host country and Health department in the UAE.
For incoming travel, Dubai has reopened its borders to foreigners from July. Abu Dhabi has a quarantine order in force for incoming travelers from most nations.
