In an outright reproach on Monday, the United Arab Emirates criticized Iranian missile attacks and said that it was a dangerous and irresponsible step and a pure violation of its sovereignty. In turn, the UAE declared that its embassy in Tehran is closing immediately and the ambassador, as well as the diplomatic staff, is leaving the country.

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that the Dubai Crown Prince and Defence Minister had a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart to discuss the state of the changing regional conditions at a fast rate and reiterate on the alignment of security issues. In the meantime, there were intense explosions that were being reported in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Manama and Kuwait City, with more retaliatory attacks continuing by Iran in a third consecutive day after US-Israeli air attacks.

The attacks interfered with the vital infrastructure in the Gulf. Amazon Web Services established that two of its data centre regions in the UAE were out of power due to the flashing of objects that hit the facilities, leading to a fire. The company has been complaining of persistent power and connectivity problems, and one of the zones had been affected previously. It also affected the airports, ports and certain residential areas.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called in the ambassador of Iran, Reza Ameri and gave him a formal protest note denouncing what it described as terrorist attacks on Emirati soil.

In the growing tensions, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and Dubai Financial Market trading was suspended until March 3. The local media stated that at least three individuals were killed in UAE during the strikes, which raised the concern about stability in the region.
