Israel Iran war: Following a recent Iranian ballistic missile attack on Israel, which the Israeli military largely neutralized with no serious damage reported, US President Donald Trump has renewed his call for a peace agreement. Trump, who facilitated resolutions between India and Pakistan, and Serbia and Kosovo during his initial presidency, voiced confidence that a similar accord is within reach for Israel and Iran. He indicated that extensive negotiations are ongoing to achieve this peace.
Trump mentioned various global conflicts in his post, in which he claimed to have intervened and stopped the fighting. He said that during his first term, a fierce war was going on in Serbia and Kosovo, which had been going on for several decades and was on the verge of taking the form of a war. Trump said that he ended this conflict. Apart from this, he also mentioned the ongoing fight between Egypt and Ethiopia over the huge dam built on the Nile River, in which peace has been maintained for the time being due to his intervention. He also said that he is trying to establish peace between Israel and Iran soon. Trump, without taking credit for his actions, said that people understand his efforts and he expressed his resolve to make West Asia great again.
President Trump said that he does a lot, but never takes credit for anything, and people understand this. His statement has come at a time when the talks on the nuclear deal between the US and Iran have been cancelled. The sixth round of talks between the two countries was scheduled today, Sunday.
Explosions in Tehran, Iraq activate air defense system
There have been five car bomb blasts in Iran’s capital Tehran recently, for which Iran has blamed Israel. Amid this tense situation, Iraq has activated its air defense system to prevent Israeli attacks, which has been done at Iran’s request. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has appealed to Iraq to prevent Israel from using its airspace so that attacks on the Islamic Republic cannot take place.
