Donald Trump, the President-elect, has named his campaign spokeswoman, the 27-year-old Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary.
Trump has described Leavitt as a ‘smart, tough and brilliant communicator’ and is set to be the youngest ever to occupy this position. Before, she had an onerous duty to be the spokesperson for the White House press secretary, work directly with the media, and report crucial messages to American citizens.
Leavitt has been very influential in Trump’s campaign, having worked as the national press secretary in the 2024 campaign. Notably, she had to balance her rigorous campaign schedule and welcomed her firstborn baby in July. In an interview on the podcast show, she narrated her story and said she was proud to be a public servant.
Lieutenant Governor Leavitt’s political awareness started at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, New Hampshire. This she did not inherit or get from a family of politicians and but worked hard to find her way into the topmost political stature. Before her current position, she was an assistant press secretary during Trump’s initial administration and then worked as a communications director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who Trump has also nominated to become a UN ambassador.
Leavitt interested herself in the House of Representatives seat in her home state of New Hampshire in 2022 but lost. However, her success has also featured the short time it took her to ascend the ladder and the achievements she has registered at a young age.
Leavitt has brought a new generation of change, which shows that Trump trusts her to deliver in this demanding position. She is expected to enter history on the list of youthful people who hold such a major post in the American political realm.
