Kyiv: Russia’s ferocity entered the 27th day today, there seem no signs of abatement. The invasion has wreaked massive destruction and is exacting a heavy toll on civilians. According to Kremlin Spoks, there have been no breakthrough talks yet between the two leaders in the ongoing peace talks. He stated that it was too early to discuss at the meeting.
The State Emergency Services of Ukraine claimed that nearly 651 residential buildings and 3,780 houses were destroyed since Putin launched his wicked ‘special military program’. The town of ‘Makariv’ was taken away from Russians after their troops were pushed back. The Ukrainian flag was raised over the town located 60km from the capital- reported Gen Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Late on Monday, President Zelensky said he was prepared to discuss a commitment from Ukraine not to seek NATO membership in exchange for a cease-fire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and a guarantee of Ukraine’s security.
“It’s a compromise for everyone: for the West, which doesn’t know what to do with us with regard to NATO, for Ukraine, which wants security guarantees, and for Russia, which doesn’t want further NATO expansion,” Zelenskyy was heard saying in an interview with Ukrainian television channels.
He also repeated his call for direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Unless he meets with Putin, it is impossible to understand whether Russia even wants to stop the war, Zelenskyy added.
Port city Mariupol which has been seeing some of the heaviest fightings since the invasion witnessed a rage on Monday after Ukraine rejected Russia’s offer to surrender by laying down arms and raising white flags in exchange for safe passage out of the city under siege. So far at least 2,300 have died.
