Sunita Williams Return Video: Indian-American astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have returned to Earth after 9 months and 14 days. Two more astronauts of Crew-9, Nick Hague and Alexander Gorbunov also returned with them. It took them 17 hours to return to Earth from the space station. All four astronauts left the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, March 18. Sunita Williams looked very happy after returning to Earth. The smile on her face was telling how happy she was to return home.
Earlier, when the spacecraft entered the Earth’s atmosphere, its temperature rose to more than 1650 degrees Celsius. During this time there was a communication blackout for about 7 minutes.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore went into space on June 5, 2024, aboard Boeing’s new Starliner crew capsule and were expected to return just a week later. There were so many problems on the way to the space station that NASA called the Starliner back to Earth empty. Due to which their return home was postponed till February. After this, there was another month’s delay due to problems related to the SpaceX capsule.
