SUDAN: Atleast 200 died and 1,800 have been injured as the battle between the paramilitary and the military deepens in Sudan.
Sudan’s military leader condemned what he called an “attempted coup” as the fight entered the third day. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who is involved in a bloody tussle for power that has gripped Sudan for three daysz claims opponents Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is leading “an attempted coup and rebellion against the state.”
On Monday, residents in the capital Khartoum endured sounds of artillery and bombardment by warplanes. Clashes re-erupted around the Army Command building and the Presidential Palace in the capital city, eyewitnesses said, as fighter jets hovered over the capital, and ground anti-aircraft defenses fired at the planes.
Hospitals are running out of essentials as forces both RSF and military have been targetting the establishments making it difficult for injured to be treated.

According to sources, a ceasefire agreement was reached which as per Burhan was violated by the RSF. However, a spokesperson for the RSF claimed it was trying to abide by the ceasefire, but “they— Burhan led army keep firing which leaves no choice” but for the RSF to “defend itself by firing back.”
Hemedti said Monday his group will pursue the leader of Sudan’s Armed Forces Abdel Fattah al-Burhan “and bring him to justice,” while Sudan’s army called on paramilitary fighters to defect and join the armed forces.
The World Health Organization had already warned that several of Khartoum’s nine hospitals receiving injured civilians “have run out of blood, transfusion equipment, intravenous fluids and other vital supplies”. According to medics, 11 have succumbed to the injuried due to u availablilty of materials in the first 48 hours.
Meanwhile, amid the violent clashes, the European Union ambassador to the nation Aidan O’Hara was attacked in his home in Khartoum on Monday, the bloc’s top diplomat Josep Borrell said.
