Gilgit: A senior minister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was allegedly abducted along with two others on Friday from Gilgit-Baltistan region in northern Pakistan by armed men.

The minister and the tourists were released today after negotiations with the militants. Adbducted minister Abaidullah Baig has released a video wherein he revealed that militants were demanding the release of their jailed accomplices. Baid said he was kidnapped while he was on his way from Islamabad to Gilgit by militants, who set up blockades on one o fthe major arterial roads linking Pakistan’s restive provinces of Khyber Pakhtunwa.

Baig was elected from Hunza in the northern part of Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The incident surfaced as Pakistan senators on Friday sounded an alarm over the surge in terrorist activities by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
