Chhattisgarh: The Naxalites in Chhattisgarh were attempting to make a major event, but security forces recovered a 10 kg IED (Improvised Explosive Device) bomb from Dhamtari forest and threw cold water on the Naxalites plans.
The security forces were informed that the Naxalites planted an IED bomb on a road in Dhamtari, which resulted in the neutralizing and recovery of the bomb while searching. The CRPF and Chhattisgarh Police took joint action to re-establish the bomb. Searching in the region’s forests has now been increased.
In this case, SP Praful Thakur stated that the police had received information from the informer on the Sunday morning that on the way to Khallari police station at a distance of about 8 km from Sankara of Sihawa police station area, the IED was found near Bhiragheen on the basis of which Sihawa Nagar Police, DRG and BDS, dog and squad team reached the spot. Around 10 kg of IED was kept near the main road of Bhiragheen which has been defused and recovered by the BDS. Three months before this, a youth was also killed by the Naxalites.
As per sources, this is the main road to go to Khallari and people pass through there and vehicles also move through the same route, due to which a major incident could have happened. But due to the vigilance of the security forces, the bomb was recovered in time and defused and saved it from a major incident.
