A small private plane crashed during an emergency landing in San Mateo Atenco, Mexico on Monday. The Mexico State Civil Protection Coordinator, Adrian Hernandez confirmed that all seven people on board, including the pilot, died in the accident. The plane was flying from Acapulco to Toluca.

The accident took place in San Mateo Atenco, an industrial area three miles (5 kilometres) from the Toluca airport, about 31 miles (50 kilometres) west of Mexico City. The plane had taken off from Acapulco, along Mexico’s Pacific coast. hile attempting to land on the football field, the plane collided with the metal roof of a nearby building. The plane caught fire upon impact, engulfing the surrounding area. Fire and rescue teams immediately arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control. Due to the severity of the fire, approximately 130 people in the vicinity were evacuated to safety.

Whether the plane crashed due to a technical fault or some other reason will only be clear after the investigation is complete.
