New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be participating in the outreach sessions of the UK-hosted G7 virtual summit in Cornwall in the United Kingdom.
As the nation experienced a drastic rise in COVID-19 cases during the resurgence, PM Modi called off his visit to Britain and resorted to attending the summit virtually.
Holding charge of the G7 this year, the UK has invited India, Australia, South Africa and South Korea to the upcoming summit. The summit formally began on Friday as experts from the world’s eminent economies gathered on the Cornish coast for the first time since the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic.

With ” Build Back Better” as its motto this year, UK outlined four priority areas for its presidency – leading the global recovery from coronavirus while strengthening resilience against future pandemics, promoting future prosperity by championing free and fair trade, tackling climate change and preserving the planet’s biodiversity and championing shared values and open societies.
India first participated in the Outreach Session of the G7 Summit in 2003.Earlier in 2019, India was invited by G7 French Presidency to participate and reflect on climate, biodiversity on oceans as well as on digital transformation.
This being the seventh year of the UK as President of G7, it is determined to rebuild the world after the savaging virus took the world by storm.
