Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan was arrested by the paramilitary force in a corruption case today. Imran Khan has been taken into custody from court premises in Islamabad.
“Imran Khan has been arrested in the Qadir Trust case”, tweeted Islamabad Police through its official Twitter account.
Before his arrest, Khan tweeted a video and captioned it, “my response to the ISPR and the two main reasons why the PDM and its patrons are trying to arrest me: 1. To stop me from campaigning because Inshallah, when the elections are announced, I will hold rallies. 2. In case the PDM government and its patrons disobey the Supreme Court’s order and deviate from the Constitution regarding the conduct of election, to prevent me from mobilising the masses for a vigorous mass movement in support of Constitution”.
