World: The Sindh Government on Saturday announced extension of the lockdown as the COVID-19 cases surged significantly. This province of Pakistan will retain the current restrictions for another two weeks.  The decision was taken in a meeting of the COVID Task Force headed by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and attended by all stakeholders. 

According to the Sindh CMs spokesperson, all shops and general stores will be allowed to operate until 6:00 pm following COVID Sop’s plans.  The intercity transport will continue in the province with 50 percent passengers. While tourist spots like Seaview, Hawks Bay, amusement parks, and other such places. will be shut. Walking tracks however, will be kept open. All wedding halls, restaurants, indoor and outdoor dining halls are directed to shut down. All educational institutions will remain closed until the situation normalizes.

Pakistan is reeling under the impact of the third wave of coronavirus. Pakistan reported 4,207 new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 8,90,391. The total number of cases detected so far in Sindh stood at 3,06,707 while 4,891 succumbed to the virus.
