A mansion that cost $125 million (approximately ₹10,770 crore ) and is the most expensive property in Pacific Palisades has been gutted by fire in the Los Angeles wildfires, a news agency has reported. The fire razed through a residential 18-bedroom building belonging to Austin Russell, the CEO of Luminar Technologies, leaving only the frame of the building. The photographs are exclusively published here to demonstrate the terrible state of the buildings, as well as ruined high-staking beams and bushes, heaps of burnt woods, and the remnants of once sumptuous greenery.
The mansion became run for its buck in 2023, featuring in Hollywood productions, especially in HBO’s Succession as the Roy Siblings home in Season 4. Nicknamed Poblenou, the residence is magnificent, and the mansion was reportedly rented out for a whopping amount of $450,000 (₹3.74 crore) per month. These fires have wiped out this famous structure, and it is a huge setback in the millionaire’s zone of greater Los Angeles.
When the firefighters started to put out the fires on Friday, it turned into a political blame game in the city. Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley also criticizes the city executives who demand that the budget cut hampers its efforts at dousing fires. “Yes, it was cut, and it did affect our ability to provide service,” said Lipar, visibly distraught in an interview with Fox 11. Crowley explained to the council that her department still does not have enough resources to adequately fight the increasing cases of wildfires.
In turn, Mayor Karen Bass, who cut more than $17 million from the fire department’s budget, spoke in her defense. She said that the cuts were made during some weak fiscal circumstances and did not impede wildfire response effects. However, the debate has continued to focus increased attention on the pressure on emergency services in the face of increased natural calamities.
