Myanmar: The people of Burma, Myanmar woke up to a severe jolt today morning as the capital faced an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 at around 9 am. The National Center for Seismology reported that the earthquake was felt 63 kms north of Burma this morning.
No casualties or loss of lives and property have been reported so far in the region. The disaster management teams were rushed to the spot soon. Reports of such earthquakes from the region and surrounding areas of the country have become very frequent. Myanmar was shaken 2 times in the past 30 days and it has reported severe earthquakes in the past as well.
Such earthquakes happen due to imbalanced tectonic plates which is a very common cause in Myanmar. As per reports the rescue operations team is on the way to the quake spot for checking for any casualties on-site.
