Washington: On May 1, Vedant Patel, the State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson said that the United States has successfully rescued more than 1000 citizens from the Sudan situation. Patel informed about this in a video which came out on the Twitter handle of the US State Department.
He said that, “In a Multinational effort, the US Government, in concert with allies and partners, has facilitated the departure of over 1000 US citizens from Sudan since the start of the violence. This effort has included intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, overwatch close coordination with partner nations on flights and convoys, and a sustained diplomatic and messaging effort to approximately 5000 US citizens who have sought our guidance.”
On the other hand, India also launched Operation Kaveri which helped the country to rescue more than 1400 Indians from the Sudan situation. The previous flight also rescued the Indian elders who were above the age of 90 years and one of them was 102 years old.
The last flight of Operation Kaveri landed in Kochi on May 1 which helped 186 Indians to be rescued from Sudan successfully. The Ministry of External Affairs tweeted that “#OperationKaveri continues to bring Indians back home. Flight carrying 186 passengers touches down in Kochi,”
