Tech giant Microsoft has joined the layoffs bandwagon! As per latest reports Microsoft Layoffs 2023 are on their way and may start sooner than we think. Microsoft is expected to cut around 11,000 jobs, which amounts to around 5 percent of the workforce being fired.
As per reports, the engineering department and human resources department are expected to be impacted the most. An official number for the number of job cuts has not been provided by Microsoft.
Earlier in October 2022, Microsoft reportedly laid off around 1,000 employees across several divisions in the company. These layoffs impacted around 1 percent of the 2,00,000 workforce at Microsoft.
Recently, Amazon announced it would be firing just over 18,000 employees. The announcement came from CEO Andy Jassy after information regarding the layoffs was leaked.
After Meta’s brutal layoff of over 11,000 employees and Twitter layoffs where 50 percent of the workforce was fired, tech layoffs are likely to continue in 2023.
