London Plane Crash: A small aircraft planning to return to Lelystad Airport crashed at London Southend Airport on Sunday afternoon, prompting a major emergency response. Emergency crews arrived at the scene soon after the crash was reported. The East of England Ambulance Service said it sent four ambulances along with several other emergency response vehicles. Fire services were also involved in the response. Soon after the incident, the plane crashed at Southend Airport has been shut down until further notice.
Soon after London plane crash, spokesperson for Southend Airport said: “Our thoughts are with those affected by today’s events and all passengers impacted by this disruption. “We will restart flight operations as soon as possible and will continue to update the public on developments.”
Essex Police and East of England Ambulance Service are responding to the UK to Netherlands flight crash incident at the airport, and a cordon is set to remain in place overnight. Essenx Police informed that it was alerted to a 12-meter plane on fire at the site.
Shortly after the UK Netherlands Plane Crash, Labour MP for Southend West, David Burton-Sampson, wrote on X: “I am aware of an incident at Southend Airport. Please keep away and allow the emergency services to do their work. My thoughts are with everyone involved.”
The plane belonged to a Dutch company, Zeusch Aviation, and it confirmed that its SUZ1 flight had been “involved in an accident” at London Southend Airport. Flight tracking data suggests the plane was a Beech B200 Super King Air that was leaving the airport for Lelystad in the Netherlands, having arrived from Croatia earlier in the day.
