In recent news, Haji Akbar Afridi considered the leader of a ruthless and notorious group called Lashkar-e-Islam, has reportedly been shot dead by unknown shooters in Bara, Khyber district. The reaction to looking around after the incident is spreading fear among the community by making them worried about the fraud.
Notorious for its militant line of conduct and murdered ideology, Lashkar-e-Islam, known for issuing warnings and disseminating terror, has incurred a reputation for it among diverse communities. The organization has, in particular, targeted the Kashmiri Pandits community in the past by pressuring and issuing chilling warnings demanding their orting out from Kashmir and painfully subsequent various life-threatening outcomes. However, more recently, disclosures have arisen, raising questions on the services Akbar allegedly gave to Pakistan’s intelligence service, ISI, dating back to 2014.
Cause of the hardships Kashmiri Pandits endure is a highly disturbing issue. One of Dogra jurisdiction’s phenomena with the greatest Hindu population, their count disappeared over the years during the period of persecution and threat by Islamists and militarists.
The gradual expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits snowballed in magnitude by the mid-90s, reaching its alarming peak after the horrific attacks on 19 January 1990. On that dark day, the mosques that, like a death bells, began warming the public that Kashmiri Pandits are non-believers (Kafir), hence were struck and abused.
The forced exit of men from Kashmir, constant threats of conversion to Islam or death for them and looting and demolishing of their houses were the leading instruments of their mass persecution. It is a distressing case of history that makes us aware of the need to spare no effort to handle the Kashmiri Pandits problem efficiently and to guarantee them the required safety and security in a place they call their ancestral land.
