The announcement was revealed in video released by his campaigning team, in which he declares to defend American Democracy. The video which opens with a Jan 6 2021, Capitol riot scene shows Biden tweets- “Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours. That’s why I’m running for re-election as president of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job.”
Vice President Kamala Harris also chorus’s with the President announcing to run for the post again.
No major Democratic challengers are expected to emerge, and Biden is likely to enjoy an easy path to his party’s nomination. However the presidential race 2024 has Donald Trump competing for the third time after his drama over Capitol riots in 2021.
